Hog’s Breath derails NLEX

Hog’s Breath drew a clutch performance from Paul Sanga in turning back powerhouse NLEX, 83-78, yesterday even as Jumbo Plastic and Derulo Accelero notched crucial wins in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup at Blue Eagle Gym.
Finding his rhythm late in the game, Sanga finished with 21 points as the Razorbacks stayed unbeaten in five games, while pinning a first loss on the Road Warriors.
Jumbo Plastic relied on a solid defensive stand in the final period to overwhelm Wang’s Basketball, 75-59, and stay within striking distance of the leaders while Derulo finally barged into the win column after seven games with an 82-75 trouncing of Arellano-Air21.
Mark Romero pumped in 14 points for Jumbo Plastic, which also drew 14 points and 11 rebounds from Jan Colina. The victory improved the Generals’ record to 5-1.
The Oilers banked on a monster performance from Raul Suyod, who wound up with 22 points, 23 rebounds and five assists.
