NU, Adamson down PSC baseball opponents

NATIONAL University and Adamson picked up a second straight victory in contrasting fashions yesterday in the Philippine Sports Commission Chairman’s Baseball Classic at Rizal Memorial Baseball Park.

Ronnel Peralta gave up only two hits and walked three as the Bulldogs hacked out a 2-1 win over the University of the Philippines Maroons, who took a first loss in two games.

The Falcons had it easy in thrashing the Rizal Technological University Blue Thunder, 11-5, to also book their second win.

Adamson exploded for six runs in the fifth in routing the Rizal Technological Blue Thunder, 11-5.

RTU absorbed its first defeat and, like UP, fell into the losers’ bracket where another setback meant elimination.

UP actually broke the ice in the second frame, but NU scored two runs in the next inning and held on to the lead. The Bulldogs finished with six hits and committed two errors.
