PLDT eyes PSL elims sweep

UNBEATEN women’s leader PLDT MyDSL guns for a sweep of the eliminations when it battles Cagayan today in the Philippine Super Liga volleyball Grand Prix at Ynares Arena in Pasig City.

Reinforced by two exciting American spikers, the Speed Boosters, with a 4-0 card,  need to play their best in the 2 p.m. match against the Lady Rising Suns, who are in third with a 3-2 slate.

Already the title favorites,  PLDT coach Roger Gorayeb still sounded an alarm with the tendency of the Speed Boosters to rely heavily on their American reinforcements: Setter Kaylee Manns and spiker Savannah Noyes.

“This is a team game and we need all six players on the court to contribute,” said Gorayeb after his wards lost the second set to winless RC Cola last Friday before taking a 25-13, 24-26, 25-18, 25-20 win.

The winner advance against  the survivor of the other semifinal duel pitting top seed PLDT Expected to lead the Lady Rising Suns are Thais Patcharee Saengmuang and Wanida Kotruang and locals Aiza Maizo and Angeli Tabaquero.
