La Salle begins ‘four-peat’ bid with win over Adamson in women’s volley
MANILA, Philippines — Defending champion De La Salle cruised to a 25-14, 25-22, 25-19 win over Adamson in opening day of the UAAP Season 76 women’s volleyball tournament Sunday before a packed crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Mika Reyes, with her long limbs, provided the defense with four blocks while reigning co-MVPs Ara Galang and Abi Maraño combined for 28 hits for the Lady Archers, who got off to a good start in their bid for a fourth straight championship.
But as impressive as La Salle may have looked, their head coach Ramil de Jesus knows that the Lady Archers still have so much to show.
