Joson III nips Olea by 1 in Southwoods Srs golf

TOMAS Joson III carded a gross 77 for a net 67 to nip previous trimester champion Raul Olea by one and rule Class A in the Seniors Trimester Birthday Bash and Christmas golf tournament sponsored by Brainmaster at Manila Southwoods’ Masters course recently.

Olea, a 9-handicapper, also grossed 77 but settled for runner-up honors in the premier division of the 18-hole tournament.

Lino Ceriola carded net 60 to dominate Johnny Violeta (net 64) and top Class B while Ed Pozon took the Class C title with a net 65, beating Jojo Lee (67). Bernie Bernardo had a net 65 to post a four-shot win over Jose Cedo (69) in the Super Seniors category of the event organized by the Southwoods Seniors Chapter headed by outgoing president Cedo and newly elected president Paco Gonzalez.

3rd straight win for Pinoy ballclub AK7

PHILIPPINE squad AK7 notched its third straight win by crushing Samarinda Veteran Club, 80-42, in the 50-and-below division of the Chenghoo Cup on Saturday in Samarinda Kalimantan Timur, Indonesia.
The win was a follow-up to AK7’s free-wheeling 171-153 triumph over Miri Malaysia on Friday.

Backstopped by former PBA stars, led by Bong Hawkins, Gerry Esplana and Pooch Juinio, AK7 started its campaign with a 79-46 victory over Makasar All-Star.

Siaco heads ‘Digmaan’ derby faves at Pasay

VETERAN cocker Allan Siaco of Laguna banners a big field of participants in the semifinals of the “Digmaan Pambansa” 9-Stag Derby at Pasay City Cockpit.

Siaco, fresh off his victory in the Ultimate Fighting Cock Champions (UFCC) stag derby last Saturday at Roligon Mega Cockpit, heads the two pointers in today’s battles.

Also with two points are Jun Topacio, Teng Ranola, Rey Reyes, Gov. Vic Magsaysay,Ralph Gonzales, Allan Enciso, Roland Marasigan and Danny Antipolo.
