Parks done with UAAP, targets NBA
THE UAAP has seen the last of sensational guard Ray Parks.
Parks, the National University star who won the UAAP men’s basketball MVP twice, said yesterday that he has decided to forgo his final two years of eligibility in the league.
The son of the late seven-time PBA Best Import Bobby Parks said he plans to try out in NBA camps in the United States next year.
Article continues after this advertisementBut Parks added in media interviews yesterday he would still honor his commitment with the national team, which will leave tomorrow for the Southeast Asian Games, and with NU-Banco de Oro in the D-League.
The 20-year-old Parks said he plans to join the next PBA Draft if “it doesn’t work out” in the US.
Parks averaged 17.8 points and 8.1 rebounds this season.
