Lady Generals, Lady Altas rout foes in NCAA volleyball
MANILA, Philippines — Emilio Aguinaldo College and reigning titlist Perpetual Help System Dalta routed their respective foes Thursday in the NCAA season 89 women’s volleyball tournament.
The Lady Generals pummeled Mapua, 25-7, 25-12, 25-15 for its fourth win, while the Lady Altas blasted Letran, 25-13, 25-12, 25-19 for a 4-2 card at the Arena in San Juan.
EAC joined Arellano University and College of Saint Benilde in No. 2 spot behind leader San Beda, while Perpetual Help moved up to fifth place.
Article continues after this advertisementArian Angustia tallied 12 hits, and Donna Mae Factor had two blocks for a nine-point outing for the Lady Generals, who needed only 50 minutes to dispose of the Lady Cardinals.
Norie Diaz recorded an astounding 10 service aces for the Lady Altas, surpassing the season record of nine by San Beda star Janine Marciano only last Tuesday.
Diaz, last season’s MVP, finished with 15 points and had five digs, while Honey Royse Tubino chipped in 13 hits for Perpetual Help.
