Lazaro crashes PCA Open semifinal cast

Leander Lazaro stormed into the semifinals with a come-from-behind 2-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5 triumph over No. 3 Elbert Anasta yesterday in the 32nd Philippine Columbian Association Open tennis championships at PCA covered clay courts in Paco, Manila.

The National U standout will square off with seven-time champion Johnny Arcilla for a place in the finals Friday.

Second seed Patrick John Tierro and Filipino-Italian Marc Reyes, who are doubles partners in the tournament, forged a semifinal duel after making light work of their respective rivals.

Tierro routed No. 6 Ronard Joven, 6-4, 6-2, to earn a clash with No. 4 Reyes, a 6-1, 6-3 conqueror of Arvin Ruel. Cedelf P. Tupas
