Cubs, Staglets dispute title
SAN BEDA and San Sebastian try to add a new chapter to their storied high school rivalry today when they dispute the title in the 2nd Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship at SGS gym on Araneta Avenue in Quezon City.
More than the bragging rights as the country’s top juniors team, a lot will be on the table when they clash in the 2:15 p.m. game to be telecast live on GMA News TV.
“Both teams are on a mission with San Beda out to protect its winning legacy while San Sebastian is seeking redemption,” said Eduard Tio, one of the league’s shareholders. “We expect another battle royale today.”

The Staglets dethroned defending champion Hope Christian High School with a 110-107 overtime win while the five-successive NCAA champion Red Cubs outlasted the Mapua Red Robins, 83-63.
