NU beats UE for 2-0 start in UAAP women’s volleyball

MANILA, Philippines – National University beat University of East via straight sets, 25-14, 25-22, 25-22, in the UAAP Season 76 women’s volleyball tournament Saturday at the Arena in San Juan.

The Lady Bulldogs logged their second win in as many games but their head coach Edjet Mabbayad didn’t seem satisfied.

“[The players] became overconfident and they relaxed, they probably thought they’re up against a bad team,” said Mabbayad in Filipino.

“I told them to challenge themselves and give their best. UE is also preparing hard and they also want to win.”

Dindin Santiago scored 16 points for NU while the Lady Warriors, who dropped to 0-2, drew futile support with Sarina Bulan pacing them with eight points.
