Danny Seigle’s second wind
CALL IT the second coming of Danny Seigle who has not given his new coach Norman Black any reason to regret his decision to sign up the 37-year-old veteran this season.
Only one game old with Talk ‘N Text, Seigle has earned the confidence of Black for his work ethics and professionalism.
Black said Seigle has kept himself in shape, and has instantly blended with the team. Black is happy with Seigle’s numbers on his very first game with TNT versus Globalport last Tuesday.

Don’t be surprised if eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao, whose focus on his next bout is being derailed by current tax problems, ends up facing his former sparring partner Ruslan Provodnikov on April 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

While Provodnikov’s manager, Vadim Kornilov, is against his client going into a fight without coach-trainer Freddie Roach who works with both Pacquiao and the Russian WBO junior welterweight titlist, he said Provodnikov might be given an offer that is hard to resist.
“Freddie himself said that if Ruslan was offered a lot of money to fight Manny, it would be hard to say no because it would mean a lot to Ruslan and the future of his family,” Kornilov was quoted in Philboxing.com.
Provodnikov lost to Tim Bradley by unanimous decision earlier this year but redeemed himself when he won over Mike Alvarado by a 10th round stoppage, earning him the WBO junior welterweight title.
“In my opinion, Ruslan would fight Manny Pacquiao only if he is made an offer that is hard to refuse. But until it comes to that, we are much more interested in all the other great fights out there for us right now like Marquez and Bradley,” said Kornilov.
