PLDT MyDSL, starring American reinforcements Kaylee Manns and Savannah Noyes, downed Cagayan Valley, 25-17, 25-21, 25-23, to finish third last night in the Philippine Super Liga Volleyball Grand Prix at Ynares Arena in Pasig.
Manns and Noyes, European league veterans and US NCAA Division stalwarts, scored 14 points each while Sue Roces added nine for the Speed Boosters, who prevailed in just an hour and nine minutes.
The win was small consolation for title favorite PLDT which won all its games in the eliminations only to lose in the semifinals to Cignal.
Cagayan got 11 points each from Ma. Angelique Tabaquero and Thai Wanida Kotruangas the Lady Rising Suns wound up fourth overall.
Earlier, Petron Blaze clinched fifth place after repeating over RC Cola in yet another five-set thriller, 25-13, 20-25, 22-25, 25-22, 15-11.
Giligan’s and Maybank were locked in battle for men’s division third place at presstime.
