MANILA, Philippines — Sinag Pilipinas cruised closer to the gold medal in the 27th Southeast Asian games basketball tournament after a 100-68 whipping of Thailand on Friday.
The Filipinos picked up their fourth win in as many outings and are just two victories away from the sweep in the biennial meet hosted by Myanmar.
It was a battle of two undefeated squads, but the Philippines came out head and shoulders above the Thais, dominating them at every department.
University of Santo Tomas standout Kevin Ferrer paced the rout with 23 points, along with two rebounds and a steal, while Jake Pascual and Kiefer Ravena combined for 29 points.
The Filipinos still have two assignments to hurdle in Indonesia and Malaysia.
