IKE JORDAN Lim scored 23 points as Makati Gospel Church-New Life Christian Academy defeated Grace Christian College, 56-38, and swept the Developmental Division championship of the 1st Philippine Ching Yuen Athletic Association (PCYAA) basketball tournament yesterday at Uno High School gym in Manila.
The MGC-New Life cagers started slowly until Lim, McNeil Jason Si, and Shane Matthew Tan conspired in a third quarter attack to rip the game wide open.
GCC tried to make a run of its own in the payoff period but its effort fell short as Lim tallied 10 points to help MGC-New Life seal a 9-game sweep of the tournament sponsored by Boysen, Valentino Watches and Clocks, Sony Xperia, Duralite and Nougat.
Meanwhile, host St. Jude Catholic School wore down Philippine Cultural College, 77-52, to earn the right to tangle with league-leading Uno High School in the juniors finals.
