MANILA, Philippines — Archard Bagsit and Henry Dagmil led the fruitful start for Philippine delegation in 27th Southeast Asian Games athletics meet Sunday at the Zayar Thiri Stadium in Myanmar.
Dagmil ruled the men’s long jump with a leap of 7.81 meters to snatch the gold medal from Thailand’s Supanara Sukhasvasti Na Ayudhaya, who registered 7.71 meters.
Bagsit, meanwhile, also finished first in the men’s 400-meter run, clocking in at 47.22 seconds, while compatriot Edgardo Alejan wound up with the silver with a time of 47.52 seconds.
Arniel Ferrera also gifted the Philippines with a silver medal in men’s hammer throw, while Riezel Buenaventura bagged brzone in the Women’s Pole Vault.
