Miyazato shares Canadian Open lead; Rosales cut
MIRABEL, Quebec—First-round leader Ai Miyazato and Angela Stanford took advantage of soft greens and a lack of wind to be co-leaders after two rounds of the Canadian Women’s Open.
Stanford shot a 6-under 66 and Miyazato had a 68 on Friday at the tree-lined Hillsdale Golf Club and they were at 11-under 133.
Song-Hee Kim was third at 9-under after a 68, with eight players another stroke back, including defending champion Michelle Wie, who shot a 69 on Friday. Paula Creamer was also in the group after a 68.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Philippines’ Jennifer Rosales missed the cut after rounds of 74-78 that gave her an eight-over 152.
The cut was at 1-under par, tying the tournament record set in 1998 at the Essex Club in Ontario. Eighty of 155 players in this field broke par. A total of 78 players made the cut.
Two days of warm weather and rain left the course defenseless and 80 of the 155 players in the field broke par.
