La Salle bags PCCL title after sweeping SWU
MANILA, Philippines — Jeron Teng scored 16 points as UAAP champion De La Salle held off Southwestern University, 70-61, in Game 2 to win its second Philippine Collegiate Champions League (PCCL) title Tuesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Green Archers went on a decisive 12-0 run that turned a precarious five-point edge to a commanding 68-51 lead with 2:46 left.

But a personal foul and a technical foul in one possession by Daryl Goloran, who fouled out with still 6:10 remaining, proved to be too costly for SWU as it sparked La Salle’s fourth-quarter surge.
“We just tried to be very aggressive on defense. We stepped up our intensity also,” said DLSU head coach Juno Sauler.

Almond Vosotros played through a bad ankle and still had 15 points with three triples, including a shot-clock beating trey that made it, 66-51, with 4:05 to go.
Landry Sanjo paced the Cobras, who beat Far Eastern University to enter the Finals, with 16 points and 13 rebounds while former Green Archer Mac Tallo had 15 points.
The Archers also won the National championship in 2008.
