JAN COLINA propped up Jumbo Plastic in the final quarter as the Giants turned back Derulo Accelero, 73-61, to crash in the top three of the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup yesterday at Blue Eagle Gym.
Flashing improved play in recent games, Colina sparked a fourth-quarter breakaway that gave the Giants a double-digit buffer, 57-47, after a slim 46-43 lead.
Colina finished with 19 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Giants, who picked up their seventh win in nine games to move behind idle leaders Big Chill (9-1) and Hog’s Breath (7-2).
Earlier, Michael Juico powered Wangs Basketball’s comeback from a double-digit deficit for a 71-68 nipping of Arellano-Air 21.
Juico unloaded 26 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Couriers.
