San Diego, Revita power Asean team
KUNMING CITY, China—Marie Antoinette San Diego and Samantha Glo Revita of the Philippines starred for the Asean team as it edged China, 2.5-1.5, in the sixth round of the 2011 China-Asean junior chess classic competition in the girls 12 years old and under category at the Lanice Hotel Inn, New Asia Athletics Park, Guangfu Road in Kunming City, Yunnan Province, China, on Friday.
San Diego, a freshman student of The First Uniting Christian School, crushed Zhao Sheng Xin with the white pieces. Revita, a grade six pupil of Rosales North Central School, prevailed with black against Huang Mo Fei.
With two rounds to go, China (12.5 points) leads the Asean team (11.5 points).
