Castro chosen Player of the Week
Pressed to take charge, Jason Castro delivered for Talk ‘N Text.
The cat-quick 5-foot-10 Castro lifted the Texters, hobbled by injuries to key players, to three straight wins in a span of six days and earned Accel-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week honors for Dec. 15 to 22.
Castro tallied 13 points, grabbed three rebounds and dished off three assists, to help TNT thwart Rain or Shine, 90-87, on Dec. 17. The 27-year-old Castro then netted 23 points, six rebounds and nine assists on Dec. 20, as TNT posted an 87-80 overtime victory over Barako Bull.
On Sunday, Castro tallied 21 points and six rebounds as the Texters, the three-time all-Filipino conference champion, subdued the Air21 Express, 87-82, and raised their record to 6-2.
