Son’s first movie role excites James Yap
It was mere coincidence that San Mig Coffee superstar James Yap was having lunch with teammates at the Diamond Hotel in Roxas Boulevard at about the same time the Metro Manila Film Festival motorcade was passing through.
When James was told that the float of the movie “My Little Bossings” was approaching, he immediately cut short his lunch and rushed out of the building to wait for it, pulling his expensive cellphone out of his pocket.
The two-time PBA MVP’s son James “Bimby” Aquino Yap, and his ex-wife, Kris Aquino are starring in the Manila Film Festival entry, along with “Eat Bulaga” host Vic Sotto and his team, comedians Jose Manalo, Paolo Ballesteros and Ryzza Mae Dizon.

“James has been very quiet, but Bimby’s breaking into show biz in a big way really excites him. This is Bimby’s first starrer,” said San Mig governor Rene “Mang Pards” Pardo.
According to Mang Pards, James Sr. has booked a cinema theater for the private showing of “My Little Bossings,” where the cager’s friends from the basketball and sporting community will be invited.

“Marc (Pingris) said the film has all the ingredients: comedy, drama, romance, some action. He thinks it’s a winner,” said Mang Pards.
Agree. Especially with his father-in-law, the original Bossing, Vic Sotto, leading the cast.

Time really flies. Was it 8 years ago, about this same time of year when James and Kris, heavy with child, attended the birthday party of a media friend?
Four months later, in April, Bimby was born. It was a very difficult delivery for Kris, whose confinement in the hospital was extended because of complications.
Bimby was cute when he was born, but now everyone agrees he’s growing up to be a really good-looking lad.
A very merry Christmas to all!
