PH archers to get FITA recognition

Three Filipino archers are getting citations from the World Archery Federation for their impressive performance in two international meets in 2013.

Delfin Adriano and brother Jose Ferdinand Adriano as well as Ian Chipeco have met the standards set by the world governing body, which will be giving them the FITA Gold Target award.

The Adriano brothers and Chipeco were part of the Philippine team in the Southeast Asian Games with Delfin Adriano and Chipeco combining with veteran Earl Yap to capture the team compound gold.

Delfin Adriano compiled 691 points, while Chipeco picked up 685 and Jose Ferdinand Adriano wound up with 683 points.

The points were picked up from the archers’ performances in the Asian Grand Prix in Bangkok last June as well as the SEA Games in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar early this month.

Yap, who won the bronze in the individual compound in the SEA Games, has already received the FITA gold target and is no longer eligible to receive the citation.
