Raymundo, Salamat lead second round draftees; Martinez goes to Ginebra
MANILA—Celebrated college stars Eric Salamat and Pamboy Raymundo headed the second round of the 2011 PBA Draft held at the Robinsons Mall in Ermita, Manila Sunday.
Salamat, who strung three titles with Ateneo in the UAAP, was selected thirteenth by Alaska, which picked Smart Gilas forward Mac Baracael as the sixth overall pick.
The Aces also strung up the said sleeper of the proceedings Julius Pasculado and PBA D-League big man Ariel Mepana of Max Bond as the 14th and 15th overall pick respectively.
Article continues after this advertisementRaymundo meanwhile, went ahead of Salamat as the one-time NCAA champion with San Sebastian got selected 12th by perennial contender Talk N Text.
Shopinas, formerly Barako Bull, tabbed former University of the Philippines slotman Magi Sison as the first pick in the second round.
Sison at six-foot-seven will address the Clickers size problems.

The sharpshooting Martinez went to crowd-darling Barangay Ginebra as the eighteenth pick while Acibar followed as he got selected by Barako Bull (formerly Air21), which has already chosen former UST stars Dylan Ababou and Allein Maliksi in the first round.
Other players chosen in the second round were Brian Ilad (BMeg), inside operator Gilbert Bulawan (Meralco), Joseph Sorongon (Barako Bull) and John Mark Agustin, son of Petron coach Ato who was picked by the Texters.
The draft went on up to the fourth with Petron picking Arellano’s Jerald Lapuz as the last draft applicant to get selected.
Twenty four out of the 34 PBA hopefuls got picked.
