FAR EASTERN University  looks to dominate Season 76 of UAAP men’s football while reigning champion Ateneo  continues to grope for form.

The Tamaraws are on top with a perfect 18 points, thanks to fourth-year striker Jesus Melliza who leads the team with five goals.

FEU completed a six-game sweep of the first round with a 3-1 beating of La Salle, which has 9 points (3-0-3).

Ateneo is languishing in the cellar with 1-1-4 for 4 points. The Blue Eagles, sorely missing ace goalie Nick O’Donnel who had to sit out the year because of academic issues, trail the National U Bulldogs (4 points, 1-1-4) with a one-goal difference.

The University of Santo Tomas Tigers, champions in 2006-2007, have 7 points (7-2-1) for fifth place.
