MANILA, Philippines — Roi Sumang led a fourth-quarter scoring binge as Cebuana Lhuillier beat Zambales, 95-86, in the 2014 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup Tuesday at the JCSGO gym in Cubao.
Sumang, the University of the East star, scored nine of his game-high 28 points in the last period where the Gems outscored the M-Builders, 30-18.
James Martinez added 16 points as he and Sumang combined to make seven 3-pointers to shoot Cebuana Lhuillier to its third win in seven games.
Mike Tolomia had 24 points for the M-Builders while Bryan Cruz and Roger Pogoy each notched a double-double. Cruz finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds while Pogot wound up with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Zambales reeled to its eight defeat in 10 outings despite out-rebounding its opponent, 60-42.
