Hog’s Breath Cafe back on track after win over BDO-NU

MANILA, Philippines — Hog’s Breath Cafe returned to winning ways with an 87-80 win over Banco De Oro-National University Thursday in the 2014 PBA D-League Aspirants’ Cup.

Coming off a three-game tailspin, the Razorbacks finally got their acts together against the also-ran Bulldogs and tied with Jumbo Plastic at 8-3.

“I’m happy that slump is finally over. Today we focus on rebounding and we also got everybody involved,” said Hog’s Breath head coach Caloy Garcia.

Hog’s Breath Cafe set the tone early then stretched their 48-41 halftime lead to as big as 23 points, 69-46, midway the third period.

Philipp Paniamogan scored 12 of his team-best 15 points in the second period while Ford Ruaya poured most of his 11 in the third quarter. Billy Robles added 12.

Jethroy Rosario and Bobby Ray Parks Jr., meanwhile, combined for 44 points for BDO-NU, which picked up its seventh defeat in eight games.
