Adamson snaps skid in UAAP baseball
MANILA, Philippines — Adamson ended a 14-game losing spell in the UAAP season 76 men’s baseball tournament, nipping University of the Philippines, 5-4, Thursday at the Rizal Memorial diamond.
Unlike their counterparts in softball, the Lady Falcons who are unbeaten in 39 matches, the Falcons have been struggling in the diamond as far back as the second round of season 74.
But Adamson made it work on Thursday, with rookie Kenneth Badrina collecting an RBI late in the ninth inning to end the Falcons’ misery.
In the other game, National University outplayed University of Santo Tomas for a 13-0 shutout as Bulldogs’ starting pitcher Aries Oruga dominated the Tigers’ batting line.
The senior Oruga pitched five innings and allowed three hits, two of which were doubles belted by catcher John Pedracio and another a single from fielder Carlo Conge.
