Lady Blazers make quick work of Lady Bombers in NCAA volley
MANILA, Philippines — St. Benilde strengthened its place in the top two after a quick work of Jose Rizal University, 25-7, 25-13, 25-10, Friday in the NCAA season 89 women’s volleyball tournament.
The Lady Blazers put on a truly superior performance over the hapless Lady Bombers, scoring on 20 whopping service aces against none.
Jeanette Panaga led St. Benilde, which tied with Arellano at 6-1 at the top of the standings, led with 13 points, eight coming from kills.
Article continues after this advertisementJannine Navarro, meanwhile, added 11 points including five aces while Djanel Cheng scored all but one of his eight points from the service line.
The Lady Bombers, who are already out of the running, just didn’t have the will and firepower to match the Lady Blazers in the match held at Arena in San Juan.
All of their scorers combined for a meager 18 points with Rosalie Pepito and Laela Lopez chipping in five markers apiece.
