NCA World Championship Derby fires off Tuesday
MANILA, Philippines — The country’s finest cockers and gamefowl breeders collide with their international counterparts in the National Cockers Alliance (NCA) World Championship Derby on Jan. 14, 16 and 18 at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
Regarded as the Philippine equivalent of the famous international cockfest in Sunset, Louisiana, the World Championship Derby lures past and reigning champions.
Organizers of the Sagupaan Complexor-sponsored derby will present some of the participants in a press conference at 12 noon today at E’s Bar at Edsa Shangri-La.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, three entries emerged as co-champions with perfect 5 points each in the regular NCA derby series Tuesday at the same Pasig venue. They are the “TMP 5-Cock” entry of Tady Palma, “GQ Ashlie” of Elan Nagaño, and “AA Jade Resort” of Arman Santos.
Tying for second place with 4.5 points each were “Anonymous” of Remy Medrano and “Mulawin” of Mayor Rudy Albano. The duo were half a point clear of “Redbull 888” of Carlos Tumpalan, “Flying Horse” of Rep. Joseph Panganiban, “Tatay Bong” of Eric dela Rosa, and “AA Cobra” of Atong Ang.
Finishing with 3.5 points each were “Pasay Invitational” of Edwin Tose, “LB Candelaria & Pugo Combined” of Ka Luding, and “SF Blue Quartz 1” of Bebot Uy.
