Tsui joins national elite karters
MANILA, Philippines — Christopher Joseph “CJ” Tsui of Formula-E Racing joined the ranks of elite karters in Philippine Motorsports when he captured the overall crown of the recent 2013 Coca-Cola Karting Super Series at Carmona Racetrack.
Hard work and determination coupled with luck proved to be the key factors behind his triumph in the season climax, where the 18-year-old De La Salle University freshman also bagged the premiere ROK Senior and ROK Overall crowns with the support of Asia Overseas Transport Co. Inc.
“I’m very happy,” said Tsui. “I’m thankful to coach Elson Carpio for making me believe in myself just as he believes in my potentials. He lifted my spirit from previous frustrations and moreover opened my eyes to greater chances of winning the crown.”
Article continues after this advertisementpoints in the ROK Senior and 24 points in the ROK Overall behind pacesetting Daniel Miranda, but he shrugged off the pressures and instead gave the best he got to sweep the Qualifying heat, the Pre-Final and Final races.
Moreover, luck favored him as Miranda just checked in sixth in the Qualifying and the Pre-Final, before winding up fourth in the Final race.
Tsui copped the ROK Senior crown, 399-396, and the ROK Overall, 408-372, over Miranda.
