MANILA, Philippines — Cebuana Lhuillier sustained its form in the second half to beat Arellano-Air21, 89-71, in the 2014 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Monday at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.

Paul Zamar scored 14 points to lead four other Gems in double-digits with Gab Banal adding 12 points and Roi Sumang, Philip Paredes and Bam Gamalinda chipping in 10 each.

“It’s good to have played three groups today but our crucial game will be our next game against Jumbo Plastic,” said Gems coach Boycie Zamar.

Cebuana Lhuillier, which improved to 4-4, took a 44-31 lead and continued to push its foot on the pedal as its advantage ballooned past the 20-point mark in the second half.

Joshua Webb had 20 points but 14 of his points came in the fourth quarter where the game was pretty much decided as the Chiefs dropped to a league-worst 1-11 record.

Gamalinda, the former PBA player, also grabbed 13 rebounds while Sumang dished out seven assists.
