MANILA, Philippines – NLEX inched closer to a familiar spot as the streaking Road Warriors clobbered Cebuana Lhuillier, 80-68, in the PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Monday at JCSGO Gym.

Kevin Alas and Garvo Lanete again stood at the forefront of a decisive breakaway where the duo combined for 22 of the team’s 28 points in the third quarter that gave the Road Warriors their biggest lead at 19 points, 67-48.

The victory stretched the Road Warriors’ winning streak to six for a 9-1 record, just a win shy of league leader Big Chill (10-1).

“I’m just happy that everybody was looking forward to make it to the playoffs,” coach Boyet Fernandez said of his Road Warriors.
