MANILA, Philippines—Reigning titlist La Salle banked on Abi Maraño’s brillance in the 25-9, 25-19, 25-13 triumph over Adamson, Saturday in the UAAP Season 76 women’s volleyball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Playing her final season for Lady Spikers, Maraño finished with 12 points including four blocks to propel her team closer to a semifinals berth.
“We executed what we’ve been practicing. They executed well,” said La Salle mentor Ramil de Jesus, who is a victory shy in achieving his 200th UAAP career win.
La Salle extended its perfect run to nine games, without dropping a single set, and 25 dating back to last season.
Sheila Pineda had nine points and nine digs for the Lady Falcons, who went down to fifth place with a 4-5 card behind Far Eastern University (5-4).
