MANILA, Philippines – National University-Banco de Oro drew a big game from Troy Rosario to rip Zambales, 94-68, in a battle of eliminated teams in the 2014 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Monday at the JCSGO Gym in Cubao.
Rosario notched a double-double with 23 points and 17 rebounds to lead a collective effort from the Bulldogs, who have now won four of their last six games after starting their maiden D-League stint at 0-6.
NU, which took complete control by halftime, 51-29, had four other players in double-digit scoring with SEA Games gold medalist Ray Parks tallying 15 points, Glenn Khobuntin adding 14 and guards Cedrick Labing-isa and Gelo Alolino providing stability at the backcourt with 13 and 12, respectively.
The M-Builders, despite a game-high 25 points from Far Eastern University guard Mike Tolomia, dropped to 2-10.
The Bulldogs now aim to finish their stint on a winning note when they go up against the lowly Derulo Accelero Oilers as part of another three-game slate on Tuesday in their second game of a back-to-back.
