MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas rebounded from a tough loss after beating College of St. Benilde, 84-74, in the 10th Fr. Martin Collegiate Open Cup at the Far Eastern University Gym.

Kim Lo scored 22 points for the Growling Tigers, who bounced back from a 55-61 setback at the hands of University of the Philippines in their previous outing.

Ed Daquioag added 21 for UST. Long-time assistant coach Estong Ballesteros took over the sidelines for the Tigers with Pido Jarencio agreeing to terms to be the new head coach of Globalport in the PBA.

Meanwhile, Perpetual Help turned back San Sebastian, 74-63 in a battle of NCAA teams while Lyceum repelled UP, 83-77.
