UFL: Army eleven tops Pachanga

MANILA, Philippines — Army-General Trias stunned Pachanga, 2-0, Thursday night even as Socceroo notched its first win in the first division of the United Football League at Emperador Stadium in Taguig.

John Cain and Kang Dae-han scored in each half as the Armymen rolled to their second win that increased their tally to seven points.

The result pushed Army to second spot, five points behind Loyola Meralco, which remains unbeaten in four matches so far.

Socceroo leaned on Lee Jeong-woo’s 87th minute strike to edge Pasargad, 1-0, earlier.

Goalkeeper Rolando Cabaniero also sparkled with an excellent save on Jaham Taher’s long-range strike in the first half that kept Socceroo, which now has four points from four matches, in the match. Cedelf P. Tupas
