La Salle, Adamson hike records in UAAP men’s volleyball

MANILA, Philippines — La Salle stunned third-seeded Far Eastern University, 29-27, 25-22, 25-22, Thursday to stay in the hunt for a final four spot in the UAAP season 76 men’s volleyball tournament.

Red Christensen fired 16 points while Raymark Woo added 15 for the Archers, who leaned on their superior blocking, 15-4 in this game to neutralize the Tamaraws.

As it stands, La Salle (5-6) is only a game behind fourth-running Adamson (6-5).

Karl Ian Dela Calzada had 14 points for the Tamaraws, who missed a crack at inching closer to Ateneo, which is at second place at 8-3, as it dropped to 7-4.

In the other game in the men’s play, the Falcons needed four sets to put away University of the Philippines, 25-20, 16-25, 25-22, 26-24.

Michael Sudaria led Adamson with 26 points all from spikes, with Bryan Saraza and John Edison Mallapre chipped in 14 and 12, respectively.

The Maroons fell further from the top four with a 4-7 card.
