MANILA, Philippines—Rain or Shine guard Paul Lee is confident that he will be able to play in Game 5.

Lee twisted his right ankle when he landed awkwardly after challenging a drive by Petron Blaze’s Chris Ross at the 7:14 mark of the second quarter and did not return.

“Bad sprain,” said Lee, who had to be assisted off the court by his teammates after hurting his ankle. “But the good thing is when it comes to injuries my body recovers fast.”

“I’m not worried. I know I can play next game,” added the former Rookie of the Year Lee, who scored seven points in eight minutes in Rain or Shine’s 88-83 win Monday night.

The University of the East stalwart had been through injuries before and this time he was just thankful it was just a sprain.

“It was really tough because I’ve been injured before during big games and semifinals as well and it’s hard not to be able to help my teammates,” he said. “But good thing it was just a sprain and I know I can really play next game.”

Lee looks to be back immediately to help his team when the Elasto Painters aim to close out the Boosters in Game 5 on Friday.
