MANILA, Philippines — A small group of high-profile player-agents recently banded together to form Virtual Sports Inc., an entity that will take player-representation to the next level.
Dondon Monteverde, Charlie Dy and Edgar Tan form the core of the group, which was launched last Jan. 30 at the Revolver Fort Office in Bonifacio Global City.
The trio puts some of the country’s brightest and most popular professional and amateur basketball players under one umbrella company, and Virtual Sports promises to nurture them even after their playing careers are over.
“We believe our athletes can play at the highest level, and at the same time, tap into their other talents,” said Monteverde, the firm’s president.
Barangay Ginebra rookie Greg Slaughter, San Mig Coffee’s James Yap, Talk ‘N Text’s Jimmy Alapag and Rain or Shine’s Jeric Teng lead the mix of young and veteran PBA players under the new management firm.
“We want our player to be well-rounded individuals,” said Dy, who represents, among others, Alapag and Jay Washington.
