Adamson gains huge bonus in UAAP softball

MANILA, Philippines — Adamson University ripped De La Salle, 8-1, in five innings to book a championship slot with a tremendous thrice-to-beat advantage in UAAP Season 76 softball Wednesday at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

The victory was the 12th straight this season—and 46th consecutive since 2010—for the Lady Falcons, who dealt their victims their 10th loss also in 12 matches.

In Wednesday’s other games, National University defeated University of the East, 12-5, to finish second in the eliminations with a 9-3 card, while University of Santo Tomas wound up third following a 7-6 squeaker over University of the Philippines.

The loss was the seventh in 12 matches for UE while it was the ninth defeat also in 12 games for UP.

UST and UE will face each other in the first phase of the step-ladder semifinals at 9 a.m. on Saturday. The winner will then battle NU, which owns a twice-to-beat edge, in the second phase on Wednesday also at 9 a.m.
