MYBall fives start playoffs, eye title slots
MANILA, Philippines – Teams fight for survival in the stepladder semifinals of the Growee-Mini Youth Ball (MYBall) Metro Invitationals starting Saturday at La Salle Green Hills Gym.
The winners in the knockout stage will advance against the LSGH Greenies, who swept the elimination round of the Contender (12-14 age group) and Mini (9-11 age group) divisions to earn outright championship berths.
National U, which finished third with a 5-2 record, will go up against No. 4 Don Bosco Technical Institute (3-4) in the Contender division at 11 a.m. today.
Article continues after this advertisementThe survivor of the match will be back the next day at 3:50 p.m. to battle Ateneo-A, the No. 2 squad that finished just a game behind the Greenies at 6-1.
Ateneo-A wound up third in the Mini division at 4-3 and duel No. 4 Lourdes School of Mandaluyong (4-3) at 9 a.m.
The winner will collide with Marist, which took the second spot at 6-1, at 1 p.m. Sunday. Jasmine W. Payo
