MANILA, Philippines — Reigning champion La Salle guns for the outright championship berth with a huge thrice-to-beat incentive when it battles National University today in Season 76 of the UAAP women’s volleyball tournament at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
In what could be a preview of the title match, the Lady Spikers will come into the encounter heavily favored to notch their 14th straight win and deal the Lady Bulldogs only their second defeat in the tournament.
Gametime is 4 p.m.
The Lady Spikers also went 14-0 in 2004 and 2011-2012, the latter prompting the league to adopt the stepladder format for the semifinals.
Adamson University, meanwhile, tries to assure itself of a playoff for the last post-season berth against also-ran University of Santo Tomas at 2 p.m.
