San Beda Alabang tossers rule WCSA
MANILA, Philippines — San Beda College Alabang needed five sets to turn back Philippine Women’s University, 25-16, 20-25, 23-25, 25-22, 15-7, and top the 12th Women’s Colleges Sports Association (WCSA) at Rizal Memorial Coliseum recently.
The Lady Red Spikers swept the best-of-three championship series and finished the season undefeated in nine matches.
SBCA’s Eula Ugalde took the Most Valuable Player plum and was also named Best Receiver.
Article continues after this advertisementThe Best Blocker award went to teammate Jem Fagara. Impressive blockings and good defense allowed SBCA to rally from a 1-2 set deficit and extend the match to a decider.
“We were given the chance to to make a run for the title so we didn’t waste any opportunities,” said Lady Red Spikers coach Jeorge Sucaldito.
