MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo shocked National University, 25-17, 12-25, 31-29, 28-26, to forge a rubber match for the last Finals berth in the UAAP Season 76 women’s volleyball tournament Wednesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Alyssa Valdez led the way for the Lady Eagles anew with the game-high 29 points. Jaja Santiago paced the Lady Bulldogs with 17.
The deciding game will be on Saturday 4 p.m. at the Smart Araneta Coliseum with the winner arranging a clash with unbeaten De La Salle.
The Lady Spikers gained an outright championship berth after sweeping the elimination round and will have a “thrice-to-beat” advantage.
