Subic to stage Green Triathlon April 26 and 27
The K-Swiss ITU Subic Bay International Triathlon (Subit) 2014 stages the Green Triathlon on April 26 and 27 at Subic Bay Freeport.
Tom Carrasco, president of the Triathlon Association of the Philippines (Trap), said the event pits the country’s topnotch triathletes while promoting environmental awareness.
The Green Triathlon, introduced in the country in 2011 through a grant from the Sports and Environment program of the Olympic Solidarity, has picked Subic to carry out its advocacy.

During the race, the athletes are also encouraged to keep the race course clean and to abide by the environmental thrust of the International Olympic Committee and International Triathlon Union.
Green Triathlon proponent and Trap secretary general Ramon Marchan heads the organizing committee along with Singapore’s Daniel Sng (technical delegate) and Uzbekistan’s Olga Blokina (referee).
