CKSC, Iloilo NU dribblers sweep elims
MANILA, Philippines — Seaoil Extreme 95-Chiang Kai Shek College, Seaoil Extreme Diesel-National University A and Smart-Iloilo swept their Division I preliminary games and barged into the quarterfinals of the 2014 Seaoil NBTC League National High School finals in separate venues Friday.
CKS outlasted Seaoil Extreme 97-Hope Christian, 77-71, Thursday, at Ynares Sports Arena and Seaoil Extreme U-NU B, 75-71, at Treston Gym to complete the Group A sweep.
NU-A routed Maynilad Cavite, 87-70, yesterday for its second win in Group B of the official grassroots program of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas.
Article continues after this advertisementIloilo-based Hua Siong College also made it 2-0 after whipping Maynilad Cebu-University of San Carlos, 73-57, in Group C.
In other games, Seaoil Extreme U-NU-B ousted Seaoil Extreme Diesel-Hope from the quarterfinal race after an 84-83 victory in Group A while Maynilad Cebu-Sacred Heart thrashed Maynilad Cavite-St. Francis of Assisi, 91-47, to also advance in Group B.
All quarterfinal and semifinal matches in Divisions 1 and 2 will be played Saturday at Ynares Sports Arena, Meralco gym, and Xavier gym.
