MANILA, Philippines – Defending champion Alaska rebounded from a poor opening game showing with a 93-77 win over Globalport in the 2014 PBA Commissioner’s Cup Saturday at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The Aces, who bounced back from a 72-85 setback to the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters last Wednesday, leaned on the strong second half showing by reigning Best Import Rob Dozier and the hot-shooting of guard RJ Jazul.

Dozier, who keyed in a telling fourth quarter run, tallied 21 of his game-high 25 points in the second half and also grabbed a game-best 15 rebounds to go along with five assists.

Jazul on the other hand, led all locals in scoring with 18 points – making five out of his six attempts from long range.

Evan Brock paced the Batang Pier, who have now lost two straight games to open the second conference after absorbing a heartbreaking 78-83 defeat at the hands of Air21 also last Wednesday.
