MANILA, Philippines — Rested and recharged after a long flight from General Santos City, Manny Pacquiao resumed his training Monday (Tuesday in Manila) in Los Angeles.
Pacquiao, who arrived in the City of Angels Saturday night, did his early morning run at chilly Griffith Park with conditioning coach Justin Fortune and assistant trainers Buboy Fernandez and Nonoy Neri.
Given two days off by Roach prior to their departure from GenSan to Manila, Pacquiao had an extra day off as Sunday is his normal break time.
Assessing Pacquiao’s physical conditioning at already 80 percent a month ahead of his WBO welterweight title fight with Timothy Bradley on April 12, Roach found no need to rev up training camp at his Wild Card Gym in Hollywood.
Come Tuesday, Roach is expected to pit Pacquiao against new sparring partners Kendall Holt and Steve Forbes, both former world champions, and Speedy Gonzalez.
