MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine men’s football team is slated to face Nepal in a friendly on April 11 in Qatar as part of the Azkals’ build up for the AFC Challenge Cup.
The two nations will face each other for the second time since the Azkals rout Nepal, 4-0, in October 2011 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium here.
The Filipinos settled for as scoreless draw against Malaysia and fell to Azerbaijan 0-1 in a series of friendlies recently.
But they have shown tremendous improvement under head coach Thomas Dooley, who assumed the coaching reins this February.
