BAGUIO—Asian Energysystems Corp., drawing big games from Nico Sevilla and Jikjik Abdon, collected 149 Wednesday for a 12-point lead over Emerald Plus at the start of Division I in the 26th Corporate Cup at Camp John Hay Golf Club here.
Sevilla scored an even par 69 worth 54 Molave points, while Abdon, in his last amateur stint before turning pro next week, added 52. Ryan Abdon’s 43 counted as the last score over Jun Fernandez’s 35.
Defending champion Team Forest Lodge only scored 135 and tied for third with Team Baguio in the event co-presented by Ayala Land Premiere and Megafiber.
Joey Ramoso scored 49, Alvin Buenaventura made 47 and Ranie Carlos added 41 for Emerald Plus. Team Forest Lodge was led by Jayson Yu’s 49, Thirdy Escano’s 44 and Shean Bedi’s 42.
Chester Calpotura spearheaded Team Baguio with 47. Retired Gen. Clyde Cabreros and Rudy Lockey added 46 and 42, respectively.
Subic Gas, led by Tony Olives’ 46, was a shot back at 134. AMSI-Calamba Doctors College got 53 from Norman dela Pena but only 41 from Ramon Villareal and 38 from John Elepano for 132.
